Structural Health Monitoring (SHM)

In SHM the question is always the same: why do we really need to monitor structures? Because they are exposed to threats throughout their life.
There is a continuous process of deterioration, which has to be localised, quantified, and which requires actions to be taken to protect and strengthen the asset.
For this reason, a process of measurement and evaluation of the fundamental parameters of the structure must be implemented, targeting risk mitigation and safety increasing.
